Our hotel is situated very quietly, in the middle of the Alpsteinarea, the hiking destination of East Switzerland.

Then you are exactly right with us. For five generations you stand as a guest in the centre of our house.

Should you be arriving outside the opening times of our reception or on a day on which the hotel is closed, a 24-hour check-in is possible by using your personal code. Please inform the hotel beforehand and provide a code with at least 4 and not more than 8 digits.

All our rooms are cosy and fully-equipped.

The generous cuisine on offer in the hotel's restaurant includes house specialities, including regional and seasonal dishes, as well as fish dishes, wild specialities and mushroom specialities. All meals can be accompanied by a glass of wine from the hotel's wine cellar.

Please note that the restaurant is closed all day on Thursdays.

From Appenzell to Schwende it is only 10 minutes by car or 20 minutes by bicycle. Travelling by the Appenzellerbahn (train) from Appenzell takes approximately 8 minutes.

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

All children are welcome.
All children under 6 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
All children under 15 years are charged CHF 40.00 per night and person for extra beds.
All older children or adults are charged CHF 40.00 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
