Completely renovated in the spring of 2008, the non-smoking Hotel Goldener Schlüssel ("golden key") is a modern, charming hotel with old town flair. It is Berne's oldest guesthouse.

The hotel is situated in the centre of the old town of Berne, meaning that all sights can easily be reached on foot in just a few minutes. The famous Zeitglockenturm (clock tower) is just 99 steps away. The hotel features an inviting, characteristic old town restaurant serving refined Swiss cuisine, and is an ideal base for business, shopping and culture.

All rooms are newly renovated and comfortably equipped.

Our restaurant is open daily and is the best address in town for Swiss cuisine and sausages.

Berne Railway Station: within walking distance (300 metres)

Arrival by public transport:
From the railway station take tramway no. 9 (direction Guisanplatz) or bus no. 12 (direction Zentrum Paul Klee) until the stop "Zytglogge".

Arrival by car:
From Zurich take motorway exit Berne-Wankdorf, from Neuchâtel take motorway exit Berne-Neufeld. Then go in the direction "Zentrum - Rathaus".

Airport Berne-Belp: 5,3 kilometres

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

All children under 6 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
All children from 6 to 11 years are charged CHF 35.00 per night and person for extra beds.
All older children or adults are charged CHF 42.00 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 2.
Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 1.
