Il Grand Hotel Kronenhof è stato costruito tra il 1848 e il 1900 e sia gli interni che le facciate sono stati dichiarati di importanza storica. Il Kronenhof si trova nel cuore del centro storico di Pontresina e offre una vista sui ghiacciai del Bernina circondati dai cembri svizzeri.

Presso l’albergo potrete cominciare la giornata con colazione e giornale, per poi affrontare una giornata ricca di impegni sulle discese e nelle foreste circostanti e passare la serata gustando i rinfreschi e le pietanze servite dai ristoranti e dai bar dell’hotel. Potrete inoltre rilassarvi presso il centro termale e benessere dell’hotel.

A contatto con la natura, respirerete l'aria cristallina; al Grand Hotel Kronenhof Pontresina trascorrerete un soggiorno in armonia con la foresta, l'acqua e le montagne.Da ogni parte della struttura, dalle camere, dalle sale trattamenti o dalla sala fitness, potrete ammirare il paesaggio delle foreste di pini e larici e il vasto ghiacciaio di Roseg. Grazie anche al nostro centro benessere, di oltre 2.000 m², il giovane Grand Hotel offre un soggiorno perfetto che combina il relax con il benessere. Dalle camere esposte a sud, il Kronenhof offre una vista del ghiacciaio, e precisamente del ghiacciaio del Roseg, caratteristica unica per un albergo europeo a cinque stelle.

L’hotel dispone di numerosi luoghi di ristorazione. I ristoranti sono due e servono una varietà di pasti, tra cui a buffet e su carrello. L’hotel offre anche un ristorante per bambini in cui i piccoli possono mangiare sotto la supervisione di personale qualificato. Il ristorante è riservato ai bambini di età superiore a 3 anni.

È possibile rifocillarsi anche presso il bar Kronenhof, il bowling e il Pavilion. Il bar Kronenhof resta aperto ogni giorno dalle 11:00 fino a tardi; il suo staff esperto è in grado di preparare per voi una varietà di cocktail. Dalle 21:00 il bar è animato dalla presenza di un pianista. Il Pavilion è un’area esterna, aperta per tutto l’anno. Da qui è possibile godere degli splendidi panorami gustando leggeri spuntini e sorseggiando bevande fino al crepuscolo.

L’hotel si trova nel cuore di Pontresina, 1800 metri sopra il livello del mare. Pontresina dista 6 km da St Moritz.

La zona offre una grande varietà di attività e di attrattive in tutti i periodi dell’anno. In estate è possibile praticare l’alpinismo, il golf (in uno dei quattro campi dell’area circostante), la pesca con la mosca, il mountain biking, il wind surf, il rafting e la canoa su fiume.

Durante l’inverno la zona offre una vasta gamma di opportunità sciistiche per tutti i livelli e gli stili. Anche gli itinerari escursionistici e i sentieri per la camminata nordica si trovano nei pressi, così come le strutture in cui praticare il curling e il pattinaggio su ghiaccio.

Numerosi i luoghi di interesse turistico della zona, tra cui la Torre Pendente, il Castello di Tarasp e la pietra dei druidi.

Travelling by train:
You travel as far as Chur with the SBB (Schweizerischen Bundesbahn – Swiss National Railways). From Chur you continue on the fast, modern trains of the RhB. To make your journey by train more comfortable, make use of the Fly-Rail-Baggage service. The journey from Zürich to Pontresina takes about 4 hours.

Travelling by car
Whether you approach from the north, south, east or west, the Swiss alpine region provides you with good quality, well-maintained roads. Enjoy a summer drive over picturesque alpine passes. In winter, the Rhätische Bahn will take you and your vehicle from Klosters through the Vereina Tunnel to the Lower Engadine, or from Thusis through the Albula Tunnel directly to the Upper Engadine.

Directions from Zurich Airport
Leave the airport on the motorway towards Zurich/Chur (green signs). The route will take you through the city of Zurich. Follow the signs to Chur until you reach the A3 motorway (13 km).
Take the motorway as far as the Chur bypass (127 km) and continue until it changes to a dual-carriageway national route (138 km). Follow the signs to Thusis/San Bernardino. Leave the national route in Thusis Süd (154 km) at the exit for Tiefencastel/Julierpass/St. Moritz.
From Tiefencastel drive over the Julier Pass as far as Silvaplana (209 km) and then continue towards St. Moritz.
Just after Silvaplana continue towards St. Moritz/Samedan. At the roundabout after Celerina turn to the right and drive towards Pontresina. From here there are just a few kilometre to the village Pontresina, where you will find the Grand Hotel Kronenhof.
Distance: approx. 220 km; travel time approx. 21⁄2 to 3 hours

Directions from Milan
Drive from the Stazione Centrale (central railway station) along Viale Zara towards Monza (17 km), then onto the national route SS 36 towards Lecco (48 km).
From Lecco follow the signs towards Sondrio/Chiavenna as far as Colico.
At Colico take the exit towards Chiavenna. At Chiavenna (120 km) take the route over the Maloja Pass (151 km) towards St. Moritz.
Just after Silvaplana continue towards St. Moritz/Samedan. At the roundabout after Celerina turn to the right and drive towards Pontresina. From here there are just a few kilometre to the village Pontresina, where you will find the Grand Hotel Kronenhof.
Distance: approx. 168 km; travel time approx. 3 hours

Directions from Munich
Take the motorway A95 towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen. After the Garmisch Tunnel (88 km) follow the signs to Ehrwald/Fernpass. Drive over the Fern Pass to Nassereith (131 km), Imst (142 km) and continue towards Landeck.
After the Fern Pass follow the motorway signs for the A12 Landeck/Bregenz*. Leave at exit no. 144 «Reschenpass/Meran/St. Moritz» (157 km) and turn right onto the B180. Drive round Landeck through the Umfahrungstunnel (bypass tunnel) and continue via Martina (191 km), Scuol and Zernez to until the roundabout before Celerina.
At the roundabout before Celerina drive direction Pontresina. From here there are just a few kilometre to the village Pontresina, where you will find the Grand Hotel Kronenhof.
Distance: approx. 280 km; travel time approx. 31⁄2 hours
Hint: An alternative route to St. Moritz from Munich is via Kufstein – Innsbruck – Landeck*. Distance: approx. 354 km
*A motorway tax sticker (Autobahnvignette) is required on all Austrian motorways.

Travelling by air
The nearest international airports are located in Zurich and Milan.
The Grand Hotel Kronenhof can be reached from Zurich Airport by car (approx. 2 ½ to 3 hours) or by train (approx. 4 hours). Coming from Milan, we recommend a journey by car (approx. 3 hours).
The Engadin Airport in Samedan, just 4 km distant from the Grand Hotel Kronenhof, is a regional airport licensed by the Swiss federal authorities. It is the highest airport in Europe – accessible all year round to private and charter jets.
