Near the nature reserve 'Hoornse Neer' you will find the Hampshire Hotel - Plaza Groningen, located in the Meerwold building.

This hotel and conference center are in a good location, just off the A7 and A28 motorways. Hampshire Hotel - Plaza Groningen lies near the sparkling centre of Groningen. It has 118 hotel rooms, a swimming pool and fantastic views over the Hoornse Meer and city Groningen. The hotel provides the perfect ambience for your business meetings, and has function rooms for groups of 2 to 250 people.

Heated swimming pool

As our guest you are welcome to make use of the swimming pool, which is located on the ground floor. This is the place to have a swim and to relax for a moment. In addition there are a number of fitness machines. Changing rooms and showers are available.

Four different types of hotel rooms are available. The basic one has a spacious bathroom with shower and toilet. The rooms are well appointed for the business traveller and offer colour TV, work desk, telephone and AM/FM alarm clock. In addition there is the possibility for internet access. All additional facilities are available on request.

The luxury room is equipped with bath and additional space, which makes your stay even more comfortable.

On the ground floor you will find the restaurant which has a pleasant atmosphere. Recently the restaurant has been changed completely. The new style is modern and elegant. In addition there is a terrace. During your meetings you are welcome to make use of the restaurant.

Breakfast

It is also possible to organize your breakfast meeting here. Breakfast is being served from 7h00 to 10h00.

Lunch

The restaurant offers an extensive lunch buffet during your meeting. In addition there is the possibility to have lunch à la carte. Please ask us for the different options. The restaurant is open for lunch from 12h00 to 14h00.

Dinner

During dinner we offer you an à la carte menu. It is also possible to arrange a special menu for you. The restaurant is open all night.

Bar

Our bar is the perfect place for a snack, a drink, or just to relax for a while. The bar is open all night.

The perfect location for a reception or the closing of your conference or seminar.

Lake and nature reserve Hoornse Meer

The environment (nature area Hoornse Meer) can be explored on foot or by bike. Hampshire Hotel - Plaza Groningen centre owns a property of approximately 4,7 hectare. The nature area itself measures approximately 300 hectare.

The city of Groningen

Groningen is the cultural capital of the north, with places of interest like the Groninger Museum, cultural centre De Oosterpoort and the municipal theatre of Groningen. The centre of the town is very charming with places like d'Olle Grieze (the Martini Tower) and the Goudkantoor. Modern architecture is mixed with historical buildings. There is a wide selection of terraces, cafés, eateries and restaurants.

From Zwolle:

- Follow the A28 for Groningen.
- Just before Groningen take exit 39 (exit Groningen Zuid).
- At the end of the exit ramp turn left, passing underneath the main road.
- Cross the bridge and turn left after 10 metres.
- Go into the entrance and in front of you is Hampshire Hotel and Plaza Groningen (in the building Meerwold).

From Heerenveen:

- Follow the A7 for Groningen.
- At the end of the A7 at the traffic lights (Julianaplein) turn right for Assen.
- Keep right and take the first exit (Groningen Zuid).
- At the end of the exit ramp turn right and then take the first left.
- Go into the entrance and in front of you is Hampshire Hotel and Plaza Groningen (in the building Meerwold).

Public Transport:

- You can reach the hotel from NS Central Station Groningen by city bus number 6 (for Martini Hospital / Hoornse Meer).
- Alight at the stop which is on the corner of J. den Uylstraat / D.D. Eisenhouwerstraat. From there it is around a 4 minute walk to the hotel.

Parking

In front of the Meerwold building is ample parking space available, free of cost.

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children up to 3 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children up to 2 years are charged EUR 15.00 per night and person for cots.
All older children or adults are charged EUR 50.00 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.

Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.

VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.

EUR 3 city/tourist tax per person per night is not included.

Internet: Internet via modem is available in the hotel rooms only and charges are applicable.
