Hotel Michalska Brana arose on the former Bratislava Castle fence by reconstruction of 600-years old property.

We can arrange a airport transfer from Bratislava or Vienna upon request. The transfer from Bratislava airport costs EUR 17 per cab that can take up to 3 persons, from Vienna Airport EUR 68. Please, inform us in advance to arrange the transfer. Our driver will meet you at the arrivals hall of the airport holding a board with your name.

Parking
We are located within the pedestrian zone of the Old Town, the nearest parking place is on Ursulinska Street, 3 minute easy walk through Zamocnicka Street. You can use credit cards to pay for parking fees. The parking place has its own navigation system and is easily accessible by car from Budapest, Vienna or Prague.

All rooms have original double glazed wooden windows. Most bathrooms have full size window to provide you with refreshing daylight in the morning, noon and sunset.

Each room has free access to high speed internet and large shower corner or bathtub. Air-conditioning and heating is regulated individually to enhance your home-like comfort.

We cordially invite you to taste original Slovak dishes in our popular high-quality Restaurant Michalska Brana. Capacity is 30 seats with an additional 40 available on our private terrace right under 80 year old leafy trees. Taste different dishes from unique Slovak recipes that only we can do. The opening hours are 10:00 to 22:00.

All sights on hand
We are only a 1 minute walk to nearby Saint Michael’s Gate, café and entertainment Michalska Street or medieval Kapucinska Street, just about a 5 minute walk to the Opera or Presidential Palace. The nearby Bratislava Castle you can reach in 20 minute walk, which is a time you need to get to Danube River too.

* By car from Prague:
D2 express way - keep driving straight until D2 changes into Stefanikova Street, where you start to drive down the hill, continue your drive in a tree-alley another 0.5 km and pass Presidential palace on your left and Crown Plaza. Drive straight towards the centre. Once you cross the tram rails, be ready to turn right on the first street to Ursulinska Street Underground Parking. Park your car, take your parking receipt and walk out of parking place. Outside, turn left and walk around the roof of parking place into Zamocnicka Street, walk another minute straight, pass Saint Michael’s Gate on your right and walk into Bastova Street.

* By car from Vienna or Budapest:
Drive straight following the sign that says CENTRUM, which will take you to the New Bridge with UFO remaining restaurant on the top, take that bridge, cross the river, pass the castle on your left, keep the right lane, follow the sign BRNO in order not to get into tunnel. On the first traffic lights turn right into centre. After 200 meters you cross the tram rails, then be ready to turn right on the first street to Ursulinska Street Underground Parking sign is there. Park your car, take your parking receipt and walk out of parking place. Outside, turn left and walk around the roof of parking place into Zamocnicka Street, walk another minute straight, pass Saint Michael’s Gate on your right and walk into Bastova Street.

* Arriving by train to Main Train Station:
If you are arriving by train, we recommend to take a taxi cab, it is about 3 km drive to us. Or, from train station take bus no. 81 or 93 and get off at Zochova Street, take the underpass. When getting off, turn right to walk around the building and start walking down the street. The first street on your right is Bastova.

* Arriving by bus to Main Bus Station
We recommend to take a taxi cab, it is about 4 km drive to us. Otherwise take a trolley bus No.208 and get of on 5th bus stop. Take the under-path toward the city centre. On the first crossroad turn right into Obchodna Street and walk straight for 3 minutes until you see Saint Michael’s Gate with baroque tower in front of you. Take a little bridge to the Gate, pass under the Gate and turn right into Bastova street.

* How to get to us by taxi:
If you take a taxi cab, tell the driver name of our hotel and driver will drop you off at the small bridge to Saint Michael’s Gate with big baroque tower. It is less then 1 minute walk to us - take that bridge, pass under the Gate and turn right into Bastova Street.

* How to get to us by public Transportation from Vienna or Bratislava airport:
With pleasure we will arrange taxi pick up by our limousine service at the Bratislava or Vienna Airport, which is the easiest way how to get to our hotel. There is no shuttle service at the both airports. The cost from Bratislava airport is 15 EUR per trip, from Vienna airport 55 EUR per trip. Maximum 3 persons per car.

* How to get to us from Vienna airport:
It is possible to take a bus from Vienna airport to Bratislava Main Bus Station. Then take a trolley bus No.208 and get of on 5th bus stop. Take the under-path toward the city centre.
